Jerry was playing great, the crowd was wild, packed in as tight as could be, and very appreciative and excited with Jerry.
Jerry played for just
over 40 minutes, and I truly think the show would have been longer had Jerry been able to hear the piano out of his monitor. The very opening act, a solo acoustic guitar player,
started his set, and there were two very loud pops that ran through the entire PA, none of the opening acts had a piano player. My thought is that the monitor that was set up for
JLL's piano likely blew. They never could get it right, it sounded great from the audience though.
If I recall right, Jerry came on stage just about 10:00 PM, and was off just a bit shy of 10:40.
The crowd was awesome, really into the show, and was just craving fast playing and of course neck breaking high note solos which for that, Jerry didn't disappoint.
I think Jerry is looking and
playing as good as I have seen since around 1998 or so. His spirits seem to be very high, and he seems to be more accepting of difficulties arising during the show etc. I am
sure optimistic for the rest of 2004, and looking foward to 2005.
