Where: Saint Etienne (Palais Des Spectacles) When: July 4, 2005 Written by: Jean-Pierre Haemmerli
I talked to
Jerry when he arrived at the venue. He was looking great and was in a good mood. We shook hands and exchanged a few words : his handshaking was indeed as strong as
usual. So everything looked good for the show.
It started at 21.13.
Ken : Baby, What You Want Me To Do BB : Bye Bye Johnny Robert : Honey Don’t
Buck : Old Time Rock And Roll
I was sitting on the front row with two friends ( thanks to Pam Haymen) who took care of these seats for us. The sound was
great: really the best I ever heard in years.

At 21.28 Jerry arrived on stage:
1) Roll over Beethoven 2) No Headstone On My Grave
3) You Win Again 4) Boogie Woogie Country Man (with a great piano intro) 5) Georgia On My Mind 6) Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On
21.45. Jerry stands up, walks towards Kenny. Phoebe arrives quickly, takes her father by the arm.
Ken announces that it is only a break, that Jerry will come back. The band keeps on playing:
BB: Sick And Tired (appropriate song ?)
Ken : Slippin' And Slidin'
I guess it’s at that moment that Patrick Rocher with an hesitating voice announced: Jerry Lee is feeling bad (had an indisposition)
and he is not coming back. The band plays on:
Robert: Lonely Weekends Ken: Columbus Stockade Blues Buck : Big Boss Man The band : instrumental outro.
