Short report of show in Tulsa, OK (July 14)
Thanks to Peter Hayman:
"Jerry played an awesome set in Tulsa! Not the longest
show, at 40 mins or so, but he was on top form. Hadacol Boogie was a highlight, although there were not many other unusual numbers. But Jerry played a lot of incredible piano on
many numbers, using his amazing "50's style, pumping technique"! Most numbers were thrilling versions, with the killer really wanting to show us what he can do.Often he
would just start to play a solo and the crowd would respond with cheers and screams! Everyone there knew it was a great performance and Jerry left the stage to a standing ovation.
He took a couple of minutes to leave the stage while he soaked up the applause, smiling at the crowd. An inspired performance! It was a real pleasure and a joy to be part of
it...."

Short report of Jerry's show at the Tampa Bay Blues Fest (May 6)
Thanks to Peter Hayman:
"Jerry played a good 45 min show-probably the best of
the 3 festival shows. Songs included Roll Over Beethoven, Don't Put No Headstone On My Grave, Trouble In Mind, Great Balls Of Fire, Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On, Mexicali Rose, I
Was Sorta Wonderin', Before The Night Is Over, Sweet Little Sixteen. Jerry seemed in a happy mood and played and sang well. The audience were happy too and were thrilled with the
Killer's performance. Percy Sledge performed well too, but the Killer very easily stole the show -he always was the "star"."

Press release on upcoming Time Life DVD "Greatest Live Performances"
****
Time Life and Jerry Lee Lewis Present
Jerry Lee Lewis: Greatest Live Performances
An Historic Concert DVD Featuring The KillerÂąs Most Memorable Moments
DVD Hits Stores May 22
FAIRFAX, VA Jerry Lee Lewis is back, and Time
Life has gathered all of his epic television appearances - performances so wild and uninhibited that they completely reshaped rock music into one DVD collection, JERRY LEE
LEWIS: GREATEST LIVE PERFORMANCES. Set for release on May 22, it is the first-ever fully authorized, historical retrospective DVD by this music icon, and follows Time Lifeąs
critically and commercially successful 3-CD box set, JERRY LEE LEWIS: A HALF-CENTURY OF HITS (released in 2006).
Jerry Lee Lewis: Greatest Live Performances features 17
unforgettable live performances and two bonus pieces from the O50s through the O90s. The DVD includes Lewisą first television appearance, his momentous 1957 performance of 'Whole
Lotta Shakin' Going On' for the Steve Allen Show and his memorable rendition of 'Breathless' on the Dick Clark Show the only live performance ever in the history of that show.
The collection also features Jerry Lee in Memphis premiering 'Great Balls of Fire' on the Dewey Phillips Show. Perhaps most notable is Jerry Leeąs own television special that
aired to an ecstatic audience in England in 1964 and can be seen in its entirety for the first time since the day it aired. Two fabulous performances from the 1970s taken from
Ralph Emeryąs Pop Goes the Country close out the DVD. On the first, Lewis sings the poignant 'Whoąs Gonna Play This Old Piano', and on the second he joins his cousin Mickey Gilley
at the piano for a boogie woogie medley. Additionally, the DVD contains one of the most comprehensive and revealing interviews Jerry Lee Lewis has ever done as a bonus feature.
Shot at Sam Phillipsą legendary Sun Records in Memphis, Lewis talks in depth about his first historic recordings and his relationship with Elvis Presley and other greats from the
era..
The release of Jerry Lee Lewis: Greatest Live Performances is the latest phase in a campaign by Time Lifeąs retail division to redefine its role in the marketplace.
The company is now a leading creator of critically acclaimed and commercially successful box sets by American music legends such as Johnny Cash, Louis Armstrong and the Stanley
Brothers, while also issuing DVDs on influential musicians J.J. Cale and Fats Domino.

Peter Hayman about this show:
"Jerry was in a reflective mood and talked about the
old days and Panther Hall. Perhaps some of the best shows of the last European tour were better than this show, with more piano playing and more energy overall, but this show was
never less than interesting and the killer satisfied the audience, who were standing up for the last two numbers."

Roll Over Beethoven You Win Again
Why You Been Gone So Long No Headstone On My Grave Crazy Arms I Dont Want To Be Lonely Tonight That Kind Of Fool Drinkin' Wine Spo-Dee-O-Dee You Belong To Me
Johnny B. Goode Great Balls Of Fire Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On
Folke Myrvang, Daniel Rossing and Tore Christensen:
"Approximately 57,3 minutes with Jerry in top
form. Best show so far on the tour. Jerry had a blue shirt, dark pants and shiny boots and even did a swinging 360 on the way off stage. We are guessing the audience was
about 1500 people. Sound was very good and clear piano and vocals. The venue was cold as heck, but Jerry managed to pound the piano nicely still."

"Jerry was jet lagged and very tired, but did a nice 44
minute show. All songs had long solos and were performed in full length, the two big hits were among the better versions I have heard live for a long time. We had a rocking ball
out on the town afterwards............"

Folke Myrvang:
"After a song Jerry stared
at someone up front (supposedly a woman) with his Killer glare, then muttered "You can take your fingers out of your ears now, we ain't even playin". He continued to
stare and said "Sitting with your fingers in your ears at a rock'n'roll show doesn't make much sense, and I thought I was crazy" he said before giving his trademark
smirk and launching into a good version of Headstone.
Just another small, but priceless moment that makes going to a JLL show always worth the money. He was in fine spirits
and the piano was perfect in the mix. His voice was a litte rough, but held up good throughout the show. He ended with Shakin' and played standing up to the audience's delight
(mine too). Well worth the money and a good reassurance before the Scandinavian/European tour."

Short report Las Vegas show (Caesars Palace, January 27)
Thanks to Kay Martin:
"I had a call yesterday from Nick Martone, who still
doesn't have a computer after his crashed last year. He was able to get into the party at Caesar's Palace, which was a private affair. Nick thinks it was a birthday party for twin
60 year old men. The band did their usual 4 numbers, then Jerry came on to great applause to Roll Over Beethoven, You Belong To Me, Sweet Little Sixteen, Before the Night is
Over, Trouble in Mind, Hadacol Boogie, I Don't Want To Be Lonely Tonight, Whole Lotta Shakin' and Great Balls Of Fire. Nick said Jerry was in excellent voice and the piano playing
was HOT! The piano Jerry was playing had been autographed inside by several people. After the show, Jerry added his signature and then the piano was auctioned off for
charity. Coincidentally, that bad press last week when Jerry wouldn't sign a guitar, saying he only signs pianos... well, he proved he signs pianos!"
